They are grown, harvested, and cured in small batches by a farmer's co-op on the island of Java in Indonesia. IndriVanilla purchases direct from the farmer at fair trade prices. The fresh, flavorful, and fragrant beans are soft and pliable--no brittle beans here! Ultra-premium vanilla beans are approximately 18-19 cm (7-7.5 inches). They are grown organically without pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic chemicals, but due to the small operation, are not certified organic. Ultra-premium vanilla beans are consistently plump, glossy, and have a clearly developed Java vanilla flavor and aroma--deep, warm, and buttery.
